A cranberry and apple cake for New Years Day.

Finally, on New Year Day I managed to make a recipe from The French Laundry by Thomas Keller. I have had this book for over a year and have not made a single recipe.I love the recipes, the photography and the great cooking tips in this book. I also  used up some craberries that were lurking at the back of the fridge from Christmas. So double score.

The recipe I decided to make it on the very last page, just before the index. It's really simple, moist  and just delicious. This cake is perfect for afternoon tea or morning coffee and our clients are  going to love it. I will include it our new Afternoon Tea Menus.
